this state of emergency, how beautiful

This is Cruz, the handsome angel of my dearest ladykin, Ambler.

Aren't they a beautiful pair?

Isn't he just the ham?!?

Cowboy in training.

He's such a blessing in all our lives!!!

if you ever get close to a human

Your Friday Sadness.

My next bedside read?

And finally, I'm cuckoo for anything Fantasia related, no matter how l'homosessuale that makes me. But I'm still less l'homo than your mom. Ohh take that.

You must pay the troll toll to get to this boy's hole

I'm not a star wars nerd but Chrissy has a friend who majored in the harp and plays pop songs on it for her and this made me think of him because even though I've never met him, I'm totes in love.

And I'm eating microwaveable Palaak Paneer for lunch (with Gardetto's natch) and it's amazing.

Feel the love and don't forget to pay your Troll Toll!

just

Ignore the video, just listen to the song. Makes my headaches go away.

Let me tell you what you can do with my love

All right.

Just groove yourself.

So um ok. I'm really doing it. I've been feeling it coming on and you know I'm just going to start doing it. I'm finally buying that bar of deodorant. OH! Just kidding. I'm going to start exercising again. Because who doesn't like to bust a move. And a sweat. And be the Wii boxing master!?!?!?!

And I have a lot of stress. And I'm not convinced the lower dose of medicine is doing much good. Except that I'm randy. All the time. And at least there's that. That's a good thing. It's disappearance was making me wonder about my younger years. Whether that was really me or that bizarro Sully people kept seeing.

Oh bizarros. How I miss you.

So yea, I think I'm just going to get pregnant so when people come unload on me I'll be like, "No way! no ma'am! I'm pregnant and can not deal with your mess!" And then, a la The Duggers, just do that the rest of my life. 18 and counting, here I come!

------------------
Have been working on so many stupid different outlines of my play. I had it basically finished out and then it was just so sentimental. And I hate sentimentality. I hate it in men. I hate it in women. I hate it in children. But it's such an easy trap to fall into. And so the play that had written itself, it was so easy, is trashed. And I'm starting over. Well not really. It's all in my mind. It's just finding the time to get it typed. I've never been a handwriter and this thing is only coming out on paper, pen and ink style. It sucks because writing anything but love letters is awful. And time consuming.

But you know, at least it's Spring time. A ring a ding time. And I'm happy enough with that.

-----------------
I love talking about synchronicity and how events are "meta." Cracks me up. Also, run and go watch HBO's Eastbound and Down. Holy Moly. That's the funniest thing I've ever seen on tv.

Well, except for this:

Let me flow, doo wa ditty

Just shoot me.

If I had thirty-five hundred dollars...

I'd be rich!

And buy this for Hubs!

Because it's bad ass!

the early cars already are drawing deep breaths past my door

Little bit ago this came in on my Netflix. I figured French, Criterion Edition, Billy Idol song, why not? It was wonderful! Of course, I'm a huge scary film freak and this was obviously less scary than what it could be today (hey, it's old though), but the suspense of the girl's face really messes with your psychology. That and the cautionary tale of being a lone girl in the city has always fascinated me in such a black, morbid way.

Speaking of, have I told you to read The Devil in the White City? Go, NOW!

BUT even better was the documentary that came along with the movie, Les Sangs Des Betes (Blood of Beasts).

Albeit rather disturbing, even for this meat eater, Hubs and I couldn't peel our eyes off the screen. Despite how uncomfortable it made me feel, I had the urge to watch LSDB over and over again.

Still do.

For Husband

This will nevar get old.

Stay on the bag, Pie!

Spring Training a la Angelos!

I was the young American

You ain't a pimp and you ain't a hustler
A pimp's got a Cadi and a lady got a Chrysler
Black's got respect, and white's got his soul train
Mama's got cramps, and look at your hands ache
(I heard the news today, oh boy)
I got a suite and you got defeat
Ain't there a man who can say no more?
And, ain't there a woman I can
sock on the jaw?
And, ain't there a child I can hold without judging?
Ain't there a pen that will write before they die?
Ain't you proud that you've still got faces?
Ain't there one damn song that can make me
break down and cry?

-Thank you David Bowie (and his labyrinthine package) for one of my favorite songs of all time. Much love!

It's going to be that kind of day!
------------
Woke up at 4:49am again. Hmmm. Was having crazy dreams about you. Once again, Lord, you broke my heart. I let it happen over and over again. How does Pandora know I need a super injection of Bob Marley today?

At least Oprah was there. She turned out to be a pretty good shoulder.

----------
We'll share the shelter of my single bed.

I'm going back in time

YESSSSSS!

This is so shake-headingly stupid, and eh! Some of my best friends are Catholic!

Whatever. Not a big fan of Benedict XVI.

Reading Devil in the White City, and it's one of the best books I've ever read. Especially if you love historical non-fiction period drama about skyscrapers and serial killers.

Thanks Chrissy for the awesome suggestion. I've flown through it!

Other than that. Work. Garden Tour and dinner with Garden Club tonight. Work.

kitty kitty

Despite the fact that I REALLY hate it when she does the baby-robot voice, and have to watch this on mute, it's still a pretty hot video to pass my lunch break on.

Although it still has nothing on I'm a Slave 4 U.

That's how easy love can be!

Cardinals Spring Training via the iphone. Gotta love that quality!

A package of Chubs. Floridians love 'em!

Cards v. Red Sox

Cards v. Orioles

#5 Pujols!!!

Shared the guilt my mother knew, afraid that others knew I had no name

I have woken up at 4:49am exactly a few times this weekend. Completely awake. Completely aware. What's happening then that I'm supposed to take notice of?

--------------
Spring training with the cousins in Florida was WONDERFUL!!! We convinced the girls that being Cardinals fans was the only way to go! Got them foam fingers. Drank cold beers. I have a red neck sunburn on the back of my neck. Pink cheeks. Pink knees. We saw the Cards win against the Red Sox, Orioles, and the Braves.

I met Derek Jeeter's aunt. She was really nice and had super long pink fingernails.

-------------
Already planning an adult cousin trip to NOLA for the Fall. The Angelo side had never been!!! And it's one of me and Bubs's favorite places to go. Trying to work it all out.

So glad I had vacation. The Atlantic was clear and clean and refreshing. Husband, I will learn how to scuba dive for you. But if a shark bites my butt, you will never hear the end of it!

-------------

Today is a good day. Lots of jazz. Lots of Motown.

Will post pics from the weekend later. Now it's time for.........

I want to wet my whistle

Holy Frijoles!

Before Hubs got sick, he bought me the most awesome bday present ever last night at the Tabriz auction. I've never had more fun with Anne's parents than last night! I'll try and post a pic later.

Until then, HOLY FRIJOLES! Don't know what to get me for my upcoming birthday????

Thursday, March 5, 2009

Aw Sookie Sookie!

Tabriz with my baby tonight! I love date nights!! Come on Bubs, let's go buy us another Persian rug!

I also love T.P. wars. And yes, until men learn to replace the roll, you know the terrorists WILL win!

ELECTRIC BOOG-ALOO!

Springtime for Hitler, and Germany!

I always have to thank Jake for giving me The Producers. Hardy Hars to be had there!

An sprechen's of (yeah, I never made it to German class just dated the professor! Zinga!):

Those crazy Germans and their fear of the upcoming Robot Wars/New World Order.

I really should be going

Just like all things awesome, and yes Chrissy, magical realism IS awesome, my friends at Mid-West Capacity (no coasters, mother f-ers!), are again at the top of my list with this:

http://mwcapacity.wordpress.com/2009/02/26/kerry-james-marshall-murals-at-sfmoma/

I LOVE these 2 Kerry James Marshall paintings. They remind me of quilts. I love the cloth-like piecemeal nature of them. And those flat Presidents are just awesome. How many times can I say awesome here, let's count. Answer at the bottom**. They remind me of how modern Hollywood depicts the vaudevillians and victorians with their cheap styrofoam hats instead of woven straw. And suspenders. And ice cream parlours. Reminds me of the Punch comics, one of my favorite:

Aww Darwin!

Plus they lead me to even more awesomeness like this:

Image below (and yes, that naughty Pan is doing what you think he's doing!!):

**(Screw You!)

omg! Aren't these wonderful! You know my birthday is in less than a month...!

It's 4am and I can't sleep

I like this website. It would appear I am addicted to laughing.

Weird post apocalyptic dreams involving me, my friend Nanny, and some weird boat trip down the Mississippi running from a monster while trying to decide whether to bring the first aid kit or just pick one up from an abandoned grocery store along the way.

Needless to say, after all that adventure, I woke up exhausted this morning. But those great northern beans and chow chow were awesome that I cooked last night!

Boo. Yea!

Also, can someone explain to me Toto's "Africa?" Like wtf is going on in that song? I just can't wrap my brain around it. Thanks in advance!

Also I'm totally digging Kanye's 808s and Heartbreaks or whatever it's called. "Memories made in the coldest winterRRRR." It's so Prince-ish. So badical.

If a girl walks in, carves her name in my heart, I'll turn and walk away

Oh dear sweet March. I'm an April baby but I do so have a soft spot for March.

Today is Casillas's birthday too! Happy birthday f-er!

There are lots of good memories of Spring. Daffodils. Hyacinth strongly smelling. The yards are all full of color and forsythia. My helleborus (lenten rose) is taking off like gang busters. I can't wait to see what was planted last year that will be arriving this year. Irises bursting (but not mine yet).

It all makes me feel good. Chrissy, I am working on your plant list. Sorry I got a little distracted when I caught the plague.

Online Scrabble with Quentin. CSI with Bubby.

I brought my seeds out last night. I'm going to work on starting to early germinate some. I need to rake out my beds more. But since it did snow Saturday, maybe I should wait a little longer.

This weekend consisted of Hubs and I at the garden show Saturday morning. Then meeting Ben and Kelley for her birthday at the Toltec Mounds. Walking the Mounds in the snow and rain. Sweet 4 wheeler ramping capabilities. Antiques at Keo. $80,000 French mega armoires at 30% off! Hubcaps and fried green tomatoes and onion rings and Mississippi Mud Pies at Cotham's for dinner. Driving back to Ben's in the pouring snow for house karaoke to Reba's "Here's your one chance Fancy..." Sunday was sleeping until 3. And it was wonderful. And Chrissy ate bacon chocolate cake. And Piper had a badass weekend. All is right with the wizz-orld.
