what we need is solar fire

Awww. I know everyone has seen this commercial 1000X but the first time Husband saw it he said, "You know, I can't wait to have a kid just so we can Lego together."

Totally sold me.

Jammin' I hope you like Jammin' too

Here's our big reveal! We're moving! We bought a house at the corner of Country Club and Polk and our orange hot mess labor of love couldn't make me happier.

We are very excited. Now I guess we start having babies?

Here's the front view. Orange house. Soon to be green house.

Irish folktales scare the shit out of me.

Feel like wasting your money on Ebay?

In the spirit of creation, a child is born!

I'm really digging this song right now!

Hitting up my parents farm this weekend. Maybe we'll finally get to meet the Amish across the road!

pink & glitter

Not very holiday in spirit, but this is the saddest and most amazing thing ever. Full House was a horrible show. But I love Bob Saget and I think this is almost so meta. So ironic. So great.

Just watch at how despicable Danny Tanner's life is. I mean it's really depressing.

In other wonderful news, Husband got me the new Zelda DS game (Spirit Tracks) for Christmas!!! I was feeling kind of bummed last night for no good reason so he decided to surprise me!! Squee!!!! It's so much fun so far. Phantom Hourglass (also for DS) was so great. A really long enjoyable game. So was Twilight Princess. I tried playing Majora's Mask on our Wii but that shiz is hard! I can't wait for the next Wii game to come out. Maybe I should just play Twilight Princess again. It's been a while.

your heart only beats 1s and 0s

Mario's closet. Very cute.

"Unsteadily, as in dim moon-shimmer, From out Makalii's night-dark veil of cloud thrills, shadow-like, the prefiguration of the world to be."

As you probably know, I am obsessed with the octopus as my shadowside. Had one even printed on my wedding program. Last night, one of my dreams, my mixed up weird night of dreams, was about scuba diving (oh I wish) and how we came upon a sea bed full of octopi. But even that's not right because they are solitary creatures (unlike jellyfish. Did you know a "school" of jellyfish is called a smack? Well you do now bc you are smart, S-M-R-T smart). But you know whatever. It was a dream.

And it was so relaxing and wonderful that it made me come do some research. So here's some cool videos and creation myth links on the octopus.

"Kanaloa - The Hawaiian Creator, the equivalent of Tangaroa from Maori myths. He is also the god of the underworld, who can teach magic. He appears in the shape of an octopus."

"The Hawaiʻian creation myth relates that the present cosmos is only the last of a series, having arisen in stages from the wreck of the previous universe. In this account, the octopus is the lone survivor of the previous, alien universe."

Read more about the octopus as Supreme Idol here. Then maybe you'll understand my desire to lie down on the ocean floor, eight sucking arms wrapped around me.

I've got to get home // Baby it's cold outside

Super? Not So Super.

My fave so far is the Wonder Woman panel. Where she's mysteriously attracted to ironing. ha! A woman's world! Yuck Yuck Yuck.

Also my favorite version of the "it's cold outside" song is sung by Leon Redbone and Zooey Deschanel.

I love how he's ridiculously deep and big band and she's adorably flat. And I mean that sincerely. I really love this version.

my friend says we're like the dinosaurs // and here we are, doing ourselves in

We'll make great pets.

So this is amazing. And barf-tastic. And wow. It's FML for Twilight set. I don't really know what that means except I like FML sometimes and I hate Twilight all the time. So.

My favorite is one about how "I asked my boyf to ice his lips before we kissed so it would be like kissing Edward."

Um. Yeah. I like kissing dead guys too?!.

Legalize it- Peter Tosh

And he was bearded. And it was grood.

I like how Boba Fett has the natty dreads!

Today is the day I drink my coffee and don't let stupid people I don't even like put me in a bad mood because they're dicks.

Also it's a day for walking at the bridge, decorating the house for Christmas, preparing for the 3rd Annual Wilson Holiday Throwdown on Saturday

(the theme is 'the fat man's looking a little lean this year...'),

and having a glass of wine with the ladies. I'm very much looking forward to it. I've been busting hump at work the last few weeks and it will feel good to relax with friends, although Thanksgiving was fairly relaxing afterall.

And don't forget to remind me to tell you about the time last night when my mom and I almost burned down the Heights...
