Hey man, there's a hole in my arm where all the money goes

So it won't stop raining and I get in my Mini (Pippi) to get on to work this morning, turn on ye olde Ipod shuffle and Cop Shoot Cop comes on. It was ridiculously appropriate. And who knew Dr. John was playing keys?

That's tough. Also a horrible rainy day for friends that got cut with the merger between the Northwest Arkansas Times and The Morning News. We love you guys. And we're very thankful we got out when we did.

Burlap Sacks and Pumps

Ok, I admit it. I really like most jam music. But come on, why does the album art always have to be so stupid? Lay off the wacky fonts already!

In other news, this is my new favorite blog. I have to thank Wade for showing me the way. I mean he captures perfectly my own thoughts, and more importantly, feelings.\

And finally, I can neither confirm nor deny that she is Storm from X-Men.

Aidan packed his talent suitcase and boarded the Hollywood train!

Ok then also these two.

I mean I love milk, the drink

I heart James Franco. So much.

The next one (below) is NSFW (unless you wear headphones).

I love a man who can make fun of himself. Isn't that what it's all about?

Watermelon Man

It's a Herbie Hancock kind of day. Perhaps. Maybe more like The Bad Plus.

I really like this song.

New Rule!

Halloween is neigh. I am dressing as everyone's favorite gal, Bavarian Bar Maid! Pics will be posted later (maybe). We're hitting up Scaraoke, a charity event karaoke/Halloween party. I'm very excited.

I dreamt last night it had snowed. White wilderness all over the place. It was nice.

Also, you want to kill some time with an adorable little robot dude?

Caroline says, as she gets up off the floor,

Oh. I'm sorry. Did you say "SuccuDry?"

Introducing Succu Dry Sex in a Can from Fleshlight, the world's first vampire inspired sex toy for men. Take a walk on the dark side and get familiar with this pale brew. But be careful! Though this may feel like love at first bite, make sure you have wood poised to penetrate before you get completely drained!

Wow. You had me at "make sure you have wood poised to penetrate before you get completely"...gag, barf, spew.

Well, I mean, I guess who am I to judge those who have sex with cans? But really. How do you clean it?

Busting makes me feel good!

Oh my gross. Gross. Gag. Gross.

And as far as your weekend goes, I hope this starts it off right. SNL is BACK BABY yEAh! In all seriousness, I whole heartedly dig this skit:

I know what it means to be alone

Ah, get your Led out.

So I have this thing. This like, addiction. My bloodlust can't be sated kind of thing. And although it's always there, lurking in my brain, it's rare that I indulge because, well, you'll see.

So I had some Wendy's chili at lunch today. It made me very happy and resolved my hamburger craving all at the same time. And I remember times when in college, my BFF Bryan and I would go to Wendy's and I would have the amazing taco salad almost every single Sunday after our lit. mag. meetings. And how my friend Ambler taught me the skill to eat Wendy's chili while driving. And that chili was a perfectly fine road trip food. And then when Wendy's changed the taco salad, making it all fanciful, my friends Nan and Sweet Pee came to my aid, held me up when I was so down.

Maybe it was just a college thing? You decide. But I wrote this Ode to Wendy's Chili a while back and it still makes me smile so hard.

My Sweet Lord

What if, Su-Lauren, you first got to decide how you'd like to feel - happy or sad, hurt or mad, approving or jealous - and then I had to go out and rearrange all the people and circumstances of your life to make it so?

You'd like that, huh?

You'd choose happy, eh?

Yeah, 'mon,
The Universe

Thanks Universe. I needed that, and yes, I would choose happy. I'd always choose happy.

Luxury Liner

Luxury liner forty tons of steele
no one in this whole wide world knows the way I feel
I've been a long lost soul for a long long time

Emmy Lou is the song for the day. I saw her play by myself on my birthday several years back and I swear she was singing only to me.

'till you come back to me, that's what I'm gonna do

This is so much fun!!! I love channeling my inner Jackson Pollock!

Just drag your mouse around and click a lot. Have fun with it!

My heart is empty without you, babe

I love our family, The Fellowship of the Trout Whisperer.

there's no stopping us now

This is so friggin' cool! I love it!

sweet tooth for white boys

I know it. This is old. But nevertheless good humor dies hard.

dinosaurs roaming the earth

Have you ever wondered how the world is going to end?

Sometimes I do. And this is the song that will be running through my mind the whole time.

but that's not the way it feels

I love how hippy Arkansas is. So conservative and yet, so hippy!

A group of us went to Mountain View

and the White River for Fellowship of the Trout Whisperer this past weekend. On the way up there, Hubs and I drove by this place: Shitake Mushroom Farm? Don't mind if I do! (except that sadly, it's closed)

Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids

This. I'm just so sad. Warning: Possibly not safe for work. But if you read this with any regularity, you know nothing is. Possibly.

Watched Dustin Hoffman and Roy Schieder in The Marathon Man last night. It was really good! So suspenseful in that way 70s movies were. They didn't give you everything and it just made you want more, want more.

The Color Purple tonight. Then going to start reading A Mercy by Toni Morrison. I'm really looking forward to that. Also, REALLY really looking forward to this, the new one from Margaret Atwood. Almost like a sequel to Oryx and Crake (which was sooooo good).

Husband is reading Aldous Huxley's A Brave New World. I love it when we get on the same SciFi page together.

Barrett, have you read Oryx and Crake yet?

you show me something beyond my looking glass

Ha ha. Okay. I am obviously so ready for the weekend. Trout Whisperer, here I come!

The Peach one is my favorite, but the Diddy Kong one made me laugh the hardest, mostly because, well, just say "Diddy Kong" out loud and you'll know what I mean.

Rock n' Roll cancer research fundraiser tonight. Gonna spike up my eyelashes and wear my leather. Rolling Stones cover band, here I come!

just remember there's a lot of bad everywhere

But not here!

Flesh for Fantasy

One of my all time favorite Sopranos episodes was on this morning. Naturally I watched it instead of the news.

My favorite scene starts at 30 sec mark. "This guy was an interior decorator." "Huh, his house looked like shit."
